Plus, you will also enjoy the satisfaction and achievement of building an online money making business and also providing solution/information that people needs.

Before I delve in fully into the subject matter of this post, it is important for me to mention that you should never underestimate or underscore your potential blog. The possibility and opportunity is limitless. Do not be fooled by the saying that those who are just joining blogging are latecomers; hence they cannot make it. RUBBISH!

While I admit that the competition is now fiercer than few years back, it is totally nonsense to conclude that newcomers cannot make it in the blogging business. With the necessary skills and abilities, a blogger can rise up the ladder and compete with those who have been up there even before the blogging rush.

Having said these, I will proceed to the Number one thing you must do to grow a money making blog. You will begin to see result in 2 months.

  • Choose a path, and then draw your plan.
Simple. Just like any other business, blogging is a serious one and you should treat it as such. Before you start out, be sure that you have a plan.
One of the major decisions to be made at this level this to decide what niche you will be going into. Be sure you that you go for a niche that you are interested in. It doesn't matter that you are not an AUTHORITY/EXPERT on that topic as at the time of starting out. You can grow in it, but you must be interested in it. This is because you are more likely to continue and grow once you are interested in your chosen niche. This will help you get the first paycheck in 2 months.
Below is a list of possible Niches or Blogging topics. Check out and see the one that you are most interested in. (please note that the list is a small one and is therefore not exhaustive)
  • Health and Fitness
  • Blogging
  • Parenthood
  • Scholarships and E-learning
  • Politics
  • Logo and Designs
  • E-books
  • Family
  • Food and Recipe
  • Currencies and International commodities.
  • Freelancing
  • Web Designing and Programming
  • How to-s.
The list is a very long one. Do not restrict yourself to those highlighted above as you can blog about just anything.

After choosing your niche, it is time to draw up your plan and set the goals. Decide on how many posts you want to have up every week. Do you want to write your contents yourself or you intend to outsource to freelancers? By what means do you intend to monetize your blog? All these are questions you should answer at this stage. Remember, the plan is to grow a new blow into earning over $100 within the first month.

  • Set a standard and stand out.
Set a standard for yourself. Spy on the successful and potential competitors in your niche. Identify the quality that stands them out. Pick out those things that are unique about them. Is it their blog design, post arrangement and font, careful placement of advertisement banners, interaction with followers? Just anything that will endear a reader to a blog and list them down for implementation on your own blog.

Then tweak their unique features into a better and more advantageous edge and stand out. I have discussed the importance and necessary points in choosing a domain name. You can read it up here.

  • Post Useful Contents.
Content is key, so also is context. It helps you rank high in search engines. The higher your rank in search results, the better for you. This determines the traffic you get on your blog.

Solve problems with your posts. Ensure that a reader does not feel the time spent on your blog is a waste. When a follower reads your content and get solutions for their problem, they are more likely to spend more time checking other posts and even likely to revisit again.
Never compromise quality here. Educating contents drives a blog forward more than you can ever imagine.

  • Build a relationship with your Audience.
When you are finally up, ensure that you keep a relationship with your audience. Reply to comments and suggest solutions to their problem, even when they are not related to your blog. You can share an article with them.

Your followers are the one that will bring the money to you either through sale soft products (affiliates or personal) or through traffic. There are the reasons why you will be up that ladder n no time, so give them what they deserve.
When you put up well researched and quality articles, they trust you more and begin to see you as an AUTHORITY on the matter. Therefore when you finally start to promote products or refer them, they are more likely to jump om them.

  • Networking.
When you are coming in newly, you will have to network with other bloggers, especially those in your niche. You tend to gain more from their experience. Also, you are seen as a part of them, hence you may earn yourself a free guest posting slot and even link exchange.

Building a network will also enlarge your target. If you create a wonderful product anytime in the future, their audience may turn your audience.

  • Monetize your blog
Sign up to any company of your choice. Google Adsense is the most popular online, This way, you will get some good income from you blog. Note that traffic determines how much you earn with your blog.

  • Traffic
Traffic means the number of persons that visit your blog. It is very important to building a successful blog because without it,  it means no one reads your blog and t remains more like your personal journal- for yourself alone.

You can get free traffic to your blog. Complete your blog's Search Engine Optimization to appear in search results. You also build backlinks on other websites to increase your search results. There is also the option of paid traffic. You pay advertisers for displaying you ads or banners on their website and driving traffic to your website.
