Blogging Newbies: Tips to having a successful blog without experience and capital.

The internet today is full of websites and blogs run by different people for different reasons. In fact, the number of blogs have increased by mind blowing percentage in the last decade. And here we are, more and more keeps coming online by the day. For some, the intention is to make money, for others it is just to while away the time and express themselves as creative writers or master mystery solvers. However, our interest is to build a money making website/blog with little
or no investment even as newbies in blogging.

Many of the bloggers around today spends very little or nothing  at all in running their blogs and they make a lot of money through same, while a lot of people have distanced themselves away from blogging not because of the lack of interest, but for the fear of capital or inexperience.

This article will break the myths surrounding experience and capital in starting a blog, and also set you on the part of a successful blogging experience.

The truth remains that majority of the blogs online today are either been hosted on blogger or it's ever growing counterpart/competitor wordpress. With this two blogging service giants, its is safe to say that one is already on the part of making money as a blogger. Wait, did I mention that they are both free to use? Yes, they are. At least on the primary level, until you decide to get some extra features/plugins for your blog.

We will focus on blogger for now. As it is easier and cheaper in my opinion. It also have a lot of tips and guides in its help section to help newbies learn and develop a money making blog.

To create a blogger account, proceed to Blogger.com and create an account with a new or existing gmail account. Its is a very simple step and account opening will be complete in few minutes.

You will then be able to access your dashboard and make post. You will also be able to choose and edit templates. With this, you bypass the boring and stressful step of writing lengthy lines of codes. It is to our advantage, we without any experience in coding and web design.

The blogger dashboard is newbie friendly and a grannie can easily write, edit and even rearrange the blog layout. At this stage, you can enter your first post as a blogger without spending a dime, save the energy and little time. You may also at this stage edit your about me, contact details and add widgets on your blog.

Now that you have set up your blog, you can now start posting topics that will interest your potential readers. Since the intention is to start up as a newbie, and rise through the rank to build a successful blog, be sure to have a certain plan and post/content implementation that may interest your blog readers.

Below, I will give you very simple and useful tips that a newbie can use to grow a new blog.

Read the following tips on writing a good content.

  • Make extensive research on your topic. It is worth it as a newbie. There are surely lots of articles out there on the topic you want to write about. Inform yourself on the topic and write like a pro. It doesn't matter that you ordinarily know nothing about the topic.  Write a unique content on the topic that will make you stand out from the crowd.
  • Be careful while choosing a post topic. Do not just come up with anything. (I will be writing on this topic very soon).Ensure that your topic is one that will make your readers to be interested in the post. Many blogs lose subscribers on the daily basis because even though they have a very informative write up, users will not read them because their headline or post topic is not compelling enough. Also make sure that your keyword is included somewhere in the post topic.
  •  Break down points and use bullets to list your tips. The essence of this is that it helps your readers focus and pick out points and follow them up without any mix up.
  • I am not an advocate of keyword stuffing/spamming. But please do ensure that they are place within the article making sure that it appears first within your first 60 words in the article for the purpose of search engines. This way, it will help you rank higher for that keyword.
  • VALUE VALUE VALUE. Please do not just write for the sake of writing. Ensure that you content is informative enough and will benefit your readers. With this, you can be assured of them bookmarking your blog and coming back to read your subsequent post. They may even be kind enough to share the post with their friends. Loyal readers are good for the growth and survival of your blog.

And hey wait! Don't complain yet, the stress is worth it anyways, either you are blogging for fun or to earn some money.

In my next post, I will be writing on how to monetize the blog and move unto a .com domain with very little amount of money and enjoy the benefit of being perceived as a professional blogger.
